Appointment of an auditor

A party whose receipts collected during the year exceed $5,000 must have its financial report audited.

Partial reimbursement of auditing costs

The treasurer reimburses to the party, out of the general fund of the municipality, the fee for auditing the annual financial report up to a maximum of:

  • $1,000 in the case of a municipality with a population of less than 50,000;
  • $1,500 in the case of a municipality with a population of 50,000 or more, but less than 100,000;
  • $3,000 in the case of a municipality with a population of 100,000 or more.
