Mr. Marcel Blanchet, Chairman of the Commission de la représentation électorale du Québec, wishes to reiterate that 48 municipalities are required to draw up, not later than June 1, 2002, their electoral map in preparation for the fall 2003 elections.

Municipal elections on November 3, 2002
In conjunction with the municipal elections to be held on November 3, 2002, the Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, Marcel Blanchet, wishes to review a number of important rules pertaining to political contributions, the control of electoral expenses and the status of private intervenor. These rules apply to the 33 municipalities of 5,000 inhabitants or more and to the four RCMs holding their elections this year.
