Press release No. 8 – By-election of December 5, 2011 - This coming Sunday and Monday electors in the electoral division of Bonaventure will be able to vote through advance polling

Quebec City, November 23, 2011 – The Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, Jacques Drouin, would like to remind electors from the electoral division of Bonaventure that there will be advance polling on November 27 and 28, 2011. This opportunity to vote is available to all those who do not wish to vote on December 5, 2011, the day of “ordinary” voting. Moreover, as of Friday, it will be possible to exercise one’s right to vote at the office of the returning officer of the electoral division. As such, the electors of Bonaventure will have seven consecutive days on which to vote.

Press release No. 7 – By-election of December 5, 2011 in Bonaventure - Various procedures are available for electors wishing to exercise their right to vote

Quebec City, November 22, 2011 – The Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, Jacques Drouin, reminds electors in the electoral division of Bonaventure that there are various ways for them to exercise their right to vote in the by-election of December 5, 2011, to be held in the electoral division of Bonaventure. Mr. Drouin also reminds them that registration on the list of electors is a pre-requisite for exercising their right to vote. Duly registered electors can then vote on polling day or at an advance poll, a mobile polling station or at the office of the returning officer.

Quebec City, November 19, 2011 –– A total of six nomination papers have been accepted for the by-election of December 5, 2011 in the electoral division of Bonaventure. The period for filing nomination papers ended at 2:00 p.m. today.

Communiqué No. 5 – By-election of December 5, 2011 in Bonaventure - The electors of Bonaventure are invited to ensure that they are registered on the list of electors

 

Quebec City, November 15, 2011 – The Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, Jacques Drouin,  invites the electors of the electoral division of Bonaventure to make sure that their names appear on the list of electors in order that they may exercise their right to vote in the upcoming by-election of December 5, 2011. Revision of the list of electors is carried out from November 14 to 22, 2011, and will be followed by a special revision period that will last until December 1, 2011.

Press release No. 4 – By-election of December 5, 2011 in Bonaventure - Mobile polling in residential facilities and at the elector's domicile

 

Quebec City, November 9, 2011 – The Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, Jacques Drouin,  would like to remind all electors with reduced mobility from the electoral division of Bonaventure  that they can exercise their right to vote at their domicile or in a residential facility. It should however be noted that in the case of these alternative polling methods, an application must be addressed to the returning officer with due dispatch.

Press release No. 3 – By-election of December 5, 2011 in Bonaventure - Political contributions and election expenses: rules to respect

 

November 3, 2011 – Concerning the by-election of December 5, 2011 in the electoral division of Bonaventure, Jacques Drouin, the Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, wishes to remind electors and candidates of the main rules included in the Election Act with respect to the control of election expenses and the soliciting of political contributions. It should be underlined from the outset that the rules concerning election expenses are in force as of now, i.e. the beginning of the electoral period, until the closing of polling stations on December 5, 2011.

Press release No. 2 – By-election of December 5, 2011 - Voting by mail for electors who are temporarily absent from Québec

 

Quebec City, November 3, 2011 –– The Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, Jacques Drouin,  wishes to inform electors from the electoral division of Bonaventure that they may register as of now to vote by mail if they expect to be outside Québec on election day (December 5, 2011) and during advance polling (November 27 and 28, 2011), and if they are unable to vote at the office of the returning officer on any of the following five days: November 25, 26, 29 and 30 and December 1, 2011.

170 polling stations will be open on polling day

 

Québec City, September 8, 2010 –– As part of the by-election to be held in the Saint-Laurent electoral division on Monday, September 13 next, Mr. Marcel Blanchet, Québec’s Chief Electoral Officer, has announced that a total of 170 polling stations, divided among 19 voting places, will be open between 9:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. All the polling stations may be accessed by disabled people.

Special revision and advance poll in the Saint-Laurent electoral division

Québec City, September 3, 2010 – Mr. Marcel Blanchet, Québec’s Chief Electoral Officer, reminds electors who need to do so that they may take advantage of the special revision and the advance poll for the by-election of September 13 next in the electoral division of Saint-Laurent. The special revision will take place on September 1 to 9 next, and the advance poll on September 5 and 6.

Various options are available to electors to exercise their right to vote

 

Québec, August 20, 2010 – Marcel Blanchet, Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, would like to remind electors that various options are available to them to exercise their right to vote, in preparation for the September 13th by-election in the electoral division of Saint-Laurent. Mr. Blanchet also wishes to recall that one of the prerequisites to be able to exercise their right to vote is to be entered on the list of electors. Electors will thus be able to vote on polling day or take advantage of advance polling.

Political contributions and election expenses: there are rules that must be followed

 

Québec, August 12, 2010 – Within the context of the upcoming September 13th by-election in the electoral division of Saint-Laurent, Marcel Blanchet, Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, would like to remind electors and candidates about the main rules found in the Election Act regarding political contributions and the control of election expenses. As for the rules concerning election expenses, they apply starting today, August 12, 2010, until the close of polling stations on September 13th of this year.
