Act respecting School elections

The Act respecting School elections (ASE) establishes the "ground rules" for every school general election or by-election. All of the steps preceding and following the poll, as well as the election procedures as such, are explained in the Act. Moreover, the role of the various players is defined in this legislation. The Act also contains the description of a certain number of violations as well as the corresponding penalties. The Minister of Education, Recreation and Sport is responsible for the application of the Act respecting School elections.
