Accessibility committee

Call for nominations until January 31, 2020

We are looking for people wishing to improve the opportunity for all handicapped persons to exercise their right to vote. People who are committed to actively participate in finding solutions and who are respectful, constructive, positive and open to others and their differences.

Eligibility

To become a member of the Accessibility Committee, a person must:

  • Meet all conditions required to exercise the right to vote.
  • Possess personal or professional expertise in the area of accessibility.

Such person may not:

  • Be a member of personnel of a political party (federal, provincial or municipal).
  • Hold a position or perform work within a political party (federal, provincial or municipal) further to an appointment.
  • Be an elected representative in Québec (at the school, municipal, provincial or federal levels).

Submitting your application

To submit your application as a candidate for the Committee, send us your résumé along with a letter explaining your motivation. The letter must indicate:

  • Why you want to be part of the committee.
  • In what way your contribution would help Élections Québec improve its actions in the area of accessibility.
  • How your relevant expertise or experience will constitute added value to the work of the Committee.

We will select members based on their profile and the diversity of candidates, in such a way as to ensure the best representation possible of various disability situations and the Québec population.

Other relevant information

  • Members are appointed for a two year term.
  • The Committee meets approximately twice a year or as needed.
  • The group’s work takes place in French and the documents are provided in French only. The format, however, can be adapted to the needs of the members.
  • We will provide financial compensation to the members for their preparation and participation in the meetings.
  • We will reimburse the members’ travelling costs.
