Reimbursement of auditing expenses

A party whose receipts collected during the year exceed $5,000 must have its financial report audited.

Partial reimbursement of auditing costs

The treasurer reimburses to the party, out of the general fund of the municipality, the fee for auditing the annual financial report up to a maximum of:

  • $1,920 in the case of a municipality with a population of less than 50,000;
  • $2,829 in the case of a municipality with a population of 50,000 or more, but less than 100,000;
  • $5,658 in the case of a municipality with a population of 100,000 or more.

The amounts above are adjusted at the beginning of each year according to the change in the Consumer price index average for the previous year, based on the index established for all of Québec by Statistics Canada.
