If a polling station is set up in the common area of your facility

Many healthcare establishments and private seniors' residences listed in the register maintained by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux have a common area where residents can:

  • enter their names on the list of electors or change their entry;
  • vote in advance.

The dates and times for entering your name on the list of electors, changing your entry and voting will be posted to inform residents of the polling teams' arrival. The teams will visit your facility in the weeks preceding election day, according to the schedule set by the returning officer.

You are unable to get to the common area

If you are unable to get to the common area, you can ask to vote in your room or apartment. Simply write or telephone the returning officer in your electoral division. You can also submit your request directly to the team that visits the common area if you are registered on the list of electors.

If there is no polling station in your facility

If you are living in a residence with fewer than 50 people or if your facility is not listed in the register maintained by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux, there might be no polling station in the common area.

You can submit a request to enter your name on the list of electors, change your entry or vote in your room or apartment. During elections, all details are on this page.

Are you registered on the list of electors?

If you wish to vote, your name must be registered on the list of electors at the address of your domicile. There are three easy ways to check whether that is the case:
