Making sure your name is on the list of electors

Summary

To vote, you need to be entered on the list of electors. Please confirm that your information is correct. Don't wait! You will not be able to to be entered on the list or to change your address on election day.

Provincial

Note: if your electoral district is undergoing an election and you registered to the list of electors or changed your information since [jour -34], you may not see these changes in the verification tool. Proof of registration or change to the list of electors will appear on the document you receive from the board of revisors that will process your application.

Municipal

Outside of an election period

You can check that your name is on the list of electors by contacting us.

During an election period

Most people are correctly registered on the list of electors at their home address and do not need to take any action. To make sure, we recommend that you check your registration.

To verify your registration for a municipal election, you must:

  1. Check the notice that the returning officer of your municipality will send you by mail.
  2. Make sure that the information about you is correct on the notice.
  3. If your name is not listed or if you need to make a change, go to the revision office as soon as possible.
  4. If necessary, consult your municipality’s website or contact the returning officer of your municipality to find out if your name is on the list of electors.

You cannot verify your registration online for a municipal election.

School

You can check that your name is on the list of electors:

  • By contacting us outside of an election period
  • On the information card or registration notice you received in the mail at the beginning of the election period
  • By contacting your returning officer, during a school election

During the election period (from [-44] to election day), you can check that your name is on the list of electors:

  • By contacting your returning officer
  • On the notice you might receive in the mail at the beginning of the election period
