Making sure your name is on the list of electors

Summary

To vote, you must be registered on the list of electors at your home address. Make sure your information is accurate. Don't wait! On election day, you will not be able to register or change your address.

Provincial

Note: if you registered to the list of electors or changed your information since [jour -36], you may not see these changes in the verification tool. Proof of registration or change to the list of electors appears on the document you received from the board of revisors that processed your application.

You can also check that your name is on the list of electors:

Municipal

You can check that your name is on the list of electors:

  • By contacting us outside of an election period
  • On the information card or registration notice you received in the mail at the beginning of the election period
  • By contacting your returning officer, during a municipal election

During an election period, your municipal returning officer will send you a notice informing you that your name is on the list of electors. Please ensure that the information is accurate. You may also contact your municipal returning officer to find out if your name is on the list of electors.

School

You can check that your name is on the list of electors:

  • By contacting us outside of an election period
  • On the information card or registration notice you received in the mail at the beginning of the election period
  • By contacting your returning officer, during a school election

During an election period, you may also contact the returning officer of your English-language school board to verify your registration on the list of electors.
