Small polling stations allow children accompanying their parents to learn about the electoral process by voting for themselves.
During a provincial election, the Voters in training program provides an opportunity for voters to experience democracy as a family! Small polling stations set up in each polling station allow children to vote, like their parents, by answering a question specially designed for them. The small polling stations are specifically designed for children between the ages of 3 and 12, but they are open to all young people under the age of 18 who want to learn about the electoral process.
During a by-election, children will have the opportunity to answer the following question:
What’s most important for you?
Dates will be posted during the election period.
The Voters in training program invites electors in participating municipalities to experience democracy as a family. On election day, children can go to the small polling station at each polling place to vote, just like their parents, by answering a question specially tailored for them. The small polling stations are particularly aimed at children aged 3 to 12, but they are open to all young people under the age of 18 who want to learn about the electoral process.
The City of Montréal organizes its own small polling stations and asks young people a different question.
Children will have a chance to answer the question below.
What do you like most about your municipality?
Dates will be posted during the election period.
