On June 14 last, the Commission de la représentation électorale (CRE) received an invitation from the National Assembly Committee, with a view to examining Québec’s proposed new electoral map. The session will take place on September 14 and 15 next, at the National Assembly in Québec City.

The CRE was delighted to receive this invitation, which it had been expecting since the tabling of the preliminary report and the public hearings in the spring of 2008. The examination will cover both the proposal from the preliminary report and the revised draft proposal tabled by the CRE last March during the general consultations on Bill 78.
