Québec City, March 12, 2001 --- Web surfers can follow the various steps of the by-election in the electoral division of Mercier at the Web site of the Chief Electoral Officer at the following address: www.dgeq.qc.ca. Indeed, Mr. Marcel Blanchet wishes to inform those electors who have access to the Internet that the Institution’s web site contains all the information on the election in progress. Moreover, this information is updated regularly.

At the site, visitors can consult press releases, the election calendar and find out the name and address of the returning officer, the number of electors, the map and demographical data of the electoral division of Mercier. Moreover, using their postal code, electors of this electoral division will be able for the very first time to locate their revision offices and polling stations.

"Wired" electors can also use e-mail to obtain information. All they have to do is send their questions to the following address: dgeq@dgeq.qc.ca. This avenue can also be used to order various documents.
