Québec City, March 28, 2001 –– Mr. Marcel Blanchet, Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, wishes to inform the electors of the electoral division of Mercier, who were unable to take advantage of the revision period, that they will be able to avail themselves of a last chance during the special revision period that will be held from March 28 to April 4, 2001.

Electors who wish to register, make a correction to their entry on the list of electors or have their name struck must go between 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. to:

Every application must be submitted with two identification documents, one of which must mention the elector’s name and date of birth and the other, his name and the address of his domicile. It is important to note that, unlike with the procedure that applies during the regular revision period, every application made during the special revision period must be made by the elector himself.

Finally, persons who register on the list of electors during the special revision period can exercise their right to vote on polling day only, namely April 9, 2001. As a result, they cannot avail themselves of the right to vote in the advance poll.
