The Chief Electoral Officer makes public the main elements of the financial reports of the provincial political parties for 2004
Mr. Marcel Blanchet, Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, today made public the main elements of the financial reports of the political parties of Québec for the fiscal year ended on December 31, 2004. Pursuant to the provisions of the Election Act, the deadline for filing the financial reports of the political parties was April 30, 2005.

The Chief Electoral Officer of Québec makes public the financial reports of three political parties represented in the National Assembly
Québec, May 5, 2009 – Marcel Blanchet, Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, has made public the financial reports of three of the four political parties represented in the National Assembly for 2008, namely: the Action démocratique du Québec/Équipe Mario Dumont (name used in 2008), the Québec Liberal Party and the Parti québécois. It should be noted that these reports do not include the revenue of these parties’ respective authorities (electoral divisions and regional associations).

Financing of Québec political parties - The Chief Electoral Officer of Québec announces the setting up of a group in charge of examining political financing

Québec, April 28, 2005 – Mr. Marcel Blanchet, Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, announces that a group made up of representatives of the three parties with seats in the National Assembly will examine over the upcoming months the financing of political parties and will propose, if necessary, amendments to the Election Act. A proposal along these lines has been made to the Advisory Committee which includes representatives of the Liberal Party of Québec, the Parti québécois and the Action démocratique du Québec, who have agreed to implement the Chief Electoral Officer's recommendation.

Mr. Marcel Blanchet, Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, wishes to inform the public that a guilty plea was entered in a case concerning a violation of the Election Act. The case involved unauthorized publicity that was distributed in the electoral division of Nelligan during the election period leading up to the September 20, 2004 by-election.
