Revenues of the authorized entities and financial participation by the state
Me Marcel Blanchet, Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, made public today the statement of operations of the 10 political parties, their authorities as well as that of the independent candidates authorized for the 1998 general election. He also gave the total amount of the participation by the State in political financing for 1999.

The Chief Electoral Officer of Québec today made public a volume containing the summaries of the election expense returns of the parties and candidates that ran in the November 30, 1998 general election and the December 14th election in the electoral division of Masson.

Mr. Jacques Girard, Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, would like to announce that there will be 177 polling stations grouped in 22 polling places during the election that will be held on December 14 in the electoral division of Masson. These polling stations will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to allow electors to exercise their right to vote. All polling places will be accessible to handicapped persons.

Pursuant to the Election Act, the counting of the votes will take place on November 30 after the polls close, namely starting at 8:00 p.m. However, Mr. Jacques Girard, Chief Electoral Officer, would like to emphasize that the results of this operation are not the official results. Indeed, the candidates are only declared elected after the addition of the votes, which will take place on the day after the election.
