Québec, August 11, 2010 –– Pursuant to an order issued by the Government of Québec today, Marcel Blanchet, Chief Electoral Officer, must hold an election on Monday, September 13,  2010 in the electoral division of Saint-Laurent.

By-election in the electoral division of Vachon on July 5, 2010

Québec City, September 16, 2009 –– In view of the by-election scheduled in the electoral division of Rousseau on Monday, September 21, 2009, the Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, Me Marcel Blanchet, would like to announce that a total of 184 polling stations, spread over 13 places of voting, will be open between 9:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. on polling day.

Québec, September 11, 2009 – The Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, M^e Marcel Blanchet, would like to remind electors who are interested that they can take advantage of the special revision and the advance poll for the by-election of September 21, 2009, in the Rousseau electoral division. The special revision will take place from September 9 to 17, 2009, while the advance poll will be held on September 13 and 14, 2009.

Québec City, September 5, 2009 –– A total of five nomination papers have been accepted by the Chief Electoral Officer of Québec for the by-election that is scheduled on September 21, 2009, in the Rousseau electoral division. The period for filing nomination papers ends today at 2 p.m.

Québec, August 28, 2009 – Marcel Blanchet, Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, would like to remind electors that various options are available to them to exercise their right to vote, in preparation for the September 21, 2009 by-election in the electoral division of Rousseau. Mr. Blanchet also wishes to recall that one of the prerequisites to be able to exercise their right to vote is to be entered on the list of electors. Electors will thus be able to vote on polling day or take advantage of advance polling. 

Québec City, August 24, 2009 –– In view of the by-election scheduled in the Rousseau electoral division on September 21, 2009, the Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, M^e Marcel Blanchet, would like to remind the public about the rules governing the status of private intervenor.

Québec City, August 20, 2009 –– The Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, M^e Marcel Blanchet, would like to inform electors of the electoral division of Rousseau that they can register for the postal ballot right away if they will be outside Québec on polling day or during the advance poll scheduled on September 13 and 14, 2009 and if they cannot take advantage of the five days of voting at the office of the returning officer on September 11, 12, 15, 16 and 17, 2009.

Québec, August 20, 2009 – Within the context of the upcoming September 21st by-election in the electoral division of Rousseau, Marcel Blanchet, Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, would like to remind electors and candidates about the main rules found in the Election Act regarding political contributions and the control of election expenses. As for the rules concerning election expenses, they apply starting today, August 20th, until the close of polling stations on September 21st of this year.

Québec City, August 19, 2009 –– By virtue of a writ of the government of Québec issued today, the Chief Electoral Officer, M^e Marcel Blanchet, has to hold election on Monday, September 21, 2009, in the electoral division of Rousseau.
