La Peltrie

Description of the electoral division

(Explanatory note)

The division of La Peltrie comprises the following municipalities: Fossambault-sur-le-Lac (V), Lac-Saint-Joseph (V), L’Ancienne-Lorette (V), Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier (V), Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier (M) and Shannon (M).

It also comprises the part of the Ville de Québec situated in the borough of La Haute-Saint-Charles and bounded as follows: the limit of the Ville de Québec, the autoroute Henri-IV (573), the overhead electric power line, the rue du Petit-Vallon, the rue Monseigneur-Cooke and its extension, the boulevard de l’Ormière and the boundary of the borough of La Haute-Saint-Charles.

Lastly, it comprises the part of the Ville de Québec that corresponds to the part of the borough of Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge situated east of the route de l’Aéroport.

1980 The electoral division of LA PELTRIE is created. It is made up of:

a part of the previous electoral division of Chauveau
(34 088 electors).
1985 The new electoral division of LA PELTRIE is made up of:
  • a part of the previous electoral division of La Peltrie
    (36 522 electors);
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Louis-Hébert
    (0 elector);
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Vanier
    (0 elector).
1988 The new electoral division of LA PELTRIE is made up of:
  • a part of the previous electoral division of La Peltrie
    (43 410 electors);
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Vanier
    (0 elector).
1992 The new electoral division of LA PELTRIE is made up of:
  • a part of the previous electoral division of La Peltrie
    (43 361 electors);
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Louis-Hébert
    (0 elector);
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Vanier
    (0 elector).
2001 The new electoral division of LA PELTRIE is made up of:
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Chauveau
    (14 858 electors);
  • a part of the previous electoral division of La Peltrie
    (34 032 electors).
2011 The new electoral division of LA PELTRIE comprises
  • Part of the former electoral division of La Peltrie (37,472 electors); 
  • Part of the former electoral division of Portneuf (5,272 electors); 
  • Part of the former electoral division of Chauveau (4,411 electors); and 
  • Part of the former electoral division of Vanier (1,760 electors).
