Can you vote?

To vote, you must:

  • have your name entered on the list of electors, at the address of your domicileCheck your entry now!
  • be 18 years of age or older on Octobre 1, 2018;
  • be a Canadian citizen;
  • have been domiciled in Québec since April 1, 2018;
  • not be under curatorship or have lost your election rights.

You must also have in hand an accepted piece of identification.

Check your entry on the list of electors

In Québec, being registered on the list of electors at the address of your domicile is mandatory if you wish to vote.

Three weeks before election day, also check whether your name appears on the information card that you received in the mail.

Remember! It is your responsibility to check that you are registered on the list of electors and that your personal information is correct. On October 1, it will no longer be possible to enter your name or make a change of address. Don't wait!

You have three options to enter your name on the list of electors or to change your entry:

Regardless of the option you choose, you must present one or more supporting documents.

Enter your name in person

From September 10 to 27, go to the office of your returning officer. the address also shown on the information card you received by mail.

Important! You must have entered your name by September 17 if you wish to vote in advance on September 23 and 24.

Vote at the same time

If you enter your name on the list of electors on the following dates and times, you may also vote in advance at the same place!

Enter your name by mail, fax or email

From September 10 to 17, you can:

  1. Complete and sign the form Application for entry on or a change to the list of electors. For a hard copy of the form, contact the returning officer of your electoral division.
  2. Return the form by mail or fax to the returning officer or by email at info@electionsquebec.qc.ca. Your form must be received by September 17, 2018.

Have a relative enter your name on the list of electors

From September 10 to 17, a family member, your spouse or a person who lives with you can submit a request to enter your name on the list of electors or to change your entry on your behalf. He or she will have to present your supporting documents as well as his or her own.
