Relations with Canadian Election Officials

Canada has 14 electoral administrations in charge of administering federal, provincial and territorial electoral laws. In addition to Elections Canada which is responsible for federal electoral legislation and the administration of federal polls for Canada’s territory as a whole, separate electoral administrations are in place in each of the ten provinces and the three Canadian territories and are in charge of administering the laws that concern them.  In Québec, the Directeur général des élections du Québec has been administering polls since 1945.

Since the early 1970s, the various electoral administrations of Canada have been sharing their experiences by means of various discussion forums.
