June 17, 2002 By-elections
Within the context of the by-elections that will be held on June 17, 2002 in the electoral divisions of Berthier, Joliette, Lac-Saint-Jean and Vimont, Mr. Marcel Blanchet, Chief Electoral Officer, wishes to inform the electors of these electoral divisions that the revision period will be held from May 27 to June 4, 2002 inclusively. During this period, revision offices will be open every day between 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Under a writ issued today by the Government of Québec and taking effect today, Mr. Marcel Blanchet, Chief Electoral Officer, must hold elections, on Monday, April 15, 2002, in the electoral divisions of Anjou, Saguenay and Viger.

New provisions of the Election Act
Following amendments to the Election Act passed in December 2001, Mr. Marcel Blanchet, Chief Electoral Officer of Québec, would like to inform electors of some of the new provisions that will be applied for the first time during the April 15th by-elections.
