The competition is aimed at appointing a major democracy player who will represent the Chief Electoral Officer in one of these electoral divisions mainly by organizing and holding electoral events such as general elections and by-elections. The deadline for submitting applications is December 18, 2006. The returning officer, who will be appointed for a 10-year tenure, will be selected in an impartial three-stage process.
