(Explanatory note)

The division of Châteauguay comprises the following municipalities: Châteauguay (V), Léry (V), Mercier (V) and Saint-Isidore (P).

It also comprises the Indian reserve of Kahnawake.

1853 The electoral division of CHÂTEAUGUAY is created.
1972 The new electoral division of CHÂTEAUGUAY is made up of:
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Châteauguay;
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Napierville-Laprairie.
1980 The new electoral division of CHÂTEAUGUAY is made up of:

a part of the previous electoral division of Châteauguay
(40 896 electors).
1985 The new electoral division of CHÂTEAUGUAY is identical to the previous one.
1988 The new electoral division of CHÂTEAUGUAY is made up of:
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Châteauguay
    (30 836 electors);
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Beauharnois
    (3 178 electors);
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Huntingdon
    (1 574 electors).
1992 The new electoral division of CHÂTEAUGUAY is identical to the previous one.
2001 The new electoral division of CHÂTEAUGUAY is made up of:
  • the previous electoral division of Châteauguay
    (41 373 electors);
  • a part of the previous electoral division of La Prairie
    (10 817 electors).
