L'Assomption


Description of the electoral division

(Explanatory note)

The division of L’Assomption comprises the following municipalities: Charlemagne (V), L’Assomption (V), L'Épiphanie (V) and L'Épiphanie (P).

It also comprises the part of the Ville de Repentigny situated to the northwest of the rivière L’Assomption.

Lastly, it comprises the part of the Ville de Terrebonne bounded as follows: the limit of the Ville de Terrebonne from where it meets the rivière Mascouche, the limit of the Ville de Terrebonne in the rivière des Prairies and the rivière des Mille Îles, the extension of the rear line of the sites fronting on the rue Samson (east side), this rear line, the montée Dumais, the autoroute 640 and the rivière Mascouche.

1829 The electoral division of L'ASSOMPTION is created.
1972 The new electoral division of L'ASSOMPTION is made up of:

a part of the previous electoral division of L'Assomption.
1980 The new electoral division of L'ASSOMPTION is made up of:
  • a part of the previous electoral division of L'Assomption
    (40 019 electors).
1985 The new electoral division of L'ASSOMPTION is identical to the previous one.
1988 The new electoral division of L'ASSOMPTION is made up of:
  • a part of the previous electoral division of L'Assomption
    (36 141 electors).
1992 The new electoral division of L'ASSOMPTION is made up of:
  • a part of the previous electoral division of L'Assomption
    (40 766 electors).
2001 The new electoral division of L'ASSOMPTION is identical to the previous one.
2011 The new electoral division of L'ASSOMPTION comprises
  • Part of the former electoral division of L'Assomption (9,817 electors); 
  • Part of the former electoral division of Terrebonne (6,538 electors); 
  • Part of the former electoral division of Masson (19,913 electors); and 
  • Part of the former electoral division of Rousseau (9,167 electors).
