Westmount-Saint-Louis


Description of the electoral division

(Explanatory note)

The division of Westmount–Saint-Louis comprises the town of Westmount.

It also comprises the part of the Ville de Montréal situated in the borough of Ville-Marie and bounded as follows: the voie Camillien-Houde, the boundary of the borough of Ville-Marie, the boulevard Saint-Laurent and the boulevard René-Lévesque Est, the rue Sanguinet and its extension, the rue Saint-Antoine Est and the rue Saint-Antoine Ouest and the boundary of the borough of Ville-Marie.

Lastly, it comprises the part of the Ville de Montréal situated in the borough of Le Plateau-Mont-Royal and bounded as follows: the avenue du Mont-Royal Ouest and the avenue de l’Esplanade, the rue Rachel Ouest, the boulevard Saint-Laurent and the boundary of the borough of Le Plateau-Mont-Royal.

History of the electoral division

1912 The electoral division of WESTMOUNT is created.

The electoral division of MONTRÉAL–SAINT-LOUIS is created.
1965 The electoral division of SAINT-LOUIS is created.
1972 The new electoral division of WESTMOUNT is made up of:
  • a part of the previous electoral division of D'Arcy-McGee;
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce;
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Sainte-Anne;
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Westmount.


The new electoral division of SAINT-LOUIS is made up of:
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Mercier;
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Sainte-Anne;
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Saint-Jacques;
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Saint-Louis;
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Westmount.
1980 The new electoral division of WESTMOUNT is identical to the previous one.

The new electoral division of SAINT-LOUIS is made up of:
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Sainte-Anne
    (5 827 electors);
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Saint-Louis
    (26 139 electors).
1985 The new electoral division of WESTMOUNT is identical to the previous one.

The new electoral division of SAINT-LOUIS is identical to the previous one.
1988 The new electoral division of WESTMOUNT is made up of:

a part of the previous electoral division of Westmount
(33 076 electors).

The new electoral division of SAINT-LOUIS is made up of:
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Saint-Jacques
    (7 848 electors);
  • the previous electoral division of Saint-Louis
    (31 548 electors).
1992 The electoral division of WESTMOUNT–SAINT-LOUIS is created. It is made up of:
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Sainte-Anne
    (5 634 electors);
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Saint-Louis
    (20 636 electors);
  • a part of the previous electoral division of Westmount
    (14 677 electors).
2001 The new electoral division of WESTMOUNT–SAINT-LOUIS is made up of:

  • a part of the previous electoral division of Westmount–Saint-Louis
    (43 515 electors).
2011 The new electoral division of WESTMOUNT-SAINT-LOUIS comprises
  • Part of the former electoral division of Westmount-Saint-Louis (39,611 electors).
