When and where to vote

You can vote on Election Day, at an advance poll, or through one of the other options available to you.

Your name must be on the list of electors in order to vote. Check your entry on line now or on your notice of entry. If your name is not on the list of electors or if you notice an error, you have until [jour -4] at 2 p.m. to correct the situation. After that, it will be too late!
You have eight days to vote. You don’t need to have your notice of entry or your reminder card in hand to vote. However, you must have one of the required pieces of identification with you.
Find your polling place
To find out where to vote or to check if your polling place meets your accessibility needs, enter your address. Addresses of advance polling places should be available starting [jour -31]. Addresses of [jour 0] polling places should be available around [jour -24].

On election day, polling stations are open from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Your polling station’s hours of operation are given on your yellow reminder card.
Advance polling
Days and hours of operation
Advance polling takes place on the Sunday and Monday of the week preceding the election. Polling stations are open from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
To find out where to vote, enter your address. Normally, polling station addresses are listed as of [jour -31].
The address of your advance polling station and its days and hours of operation are indicated on the notice of entry.
Voting at the returning officer’s office

- [day -6], from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- [day -5], from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In addition to election day and advance polls, there are five additional voting days at the office of the returning officer (note that the wait may be longer). You can also go there to register for the list of electors or change the information on your registration.

You can also go to the office of any returning officer in Québec to vote for a candidate in your electoral division.
Other voting options
If one of the following situations applies to you, there are other options available:
- You are a student
- You are unable to move about for health reasons
- You live in a residential long-term care centre or a private seniors’ residence
- You are in a hospital, a rehabilitation centre, a palliative care home or an addiction resource
- You are outside Quebec
- You are in another electoral division
- You are in a remote or isolated area
- You are incarcerated
- You have reduced mobility or motor skills
- You have hearing or visual limitations
Bring your kids along when you vote
Bring your kids when you go to vote in the provincial election! Small polling stations are set up specifically for children between the ages of 3 and 12, but they are open to all young people under the age of 18 who want to learn about the electoral process.

When to vote?
The returning officer must ensure that electors know when they can vote.
You can vote in advance on the Sunday before the election. In some municipalities, you can also vote on the Saturday before the advance poll.
For more information, consult your municipality’s communications, like its public notice of election. Some municipalities also send a reminder card by mail.

Voting at the office of the returning officer
Municipalities with 20,000 inhabitants or more must allow electors to vote at the office of the returning officer on the ninth day before polling day, at least between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Municipalities may also offer this option on the sixth, fifth and fourth days.
This type of vote can take place at any location designated by the returning officer; it does not have to be in their office.

Voting on election day
On election day, polling stations are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
To find out the address of your polling station, please check the reminder card you might receive in the mail or contact the returning officer.
This reminder card also includes information about the candidates running for your school board.
Voting in the advance poll
You will be able to vote at the advance polls the seventh day before the election, between noon and 8 p.m. To find out where your advance polling station is located, contact the returning officer.
Other options for voting
